About Us

The core team of LD&Co consists of Managing Partners Luc Desmedt and Pascal Deckers, who are heading the company, and Associate Partner Veronique Claerbout. The activities of LD&Co are delivered under the leadership of the Managing Partners in close collaboration with a network of carefully selected expert partners. These partners either play an active role in the delivery of the consulting & training services, or provide expert information and inspiration, enabling LD&Co to consistently offer state-of-the-art knowledge and expertise.

Luc Desmedt
Founder & Managing Partner

Luc started his career in 1986 in the marketing department of Procter & Gamble and held several brand & marketing management positions. He also gained key account management experience, both on a national and international level, and played a pioneering role in the worldwide development of Category Management within P&G. In 2002, Luc Desmedt became Managing Partner of Retail Insights, a company specialized in gathering and activating shopper insights. Within Retail Insights, Luc Desmedt developed consulting & training services aimed at developing and delivering Category Management, Shopper & Trade Marketing competences and strategies. Since July 2008, the consulting & training services are delivered out of the newly created company LD&Co. Luc is member of the board of Fairtrade Belgium.

Pascal Deckers
Managing Partner

Pascal Deckers joins LD&Co after having built more than 20 years of experience in Marketing Research, Trade and Shopper Marketing, Category Development and Global Marketing. He worked for category captains Sara Lee/Douwe Egberts (currently Jacobs Douwe Egberts) and Lotus Bakeries.

He brings a wealth of hands-on experience and fresh insights to LD&Co and is a recognized professional in Category Management, with a focus on improving overall business performances with a pragmatic category mindset, fitting perfectly into LD&Co’s philosophy.

Veronique Claerbout
Associate Partner

Veronique joined LD&Co in 2013 as an Associate Partner. A driven professional who built up her valuable expertise in sales, trade- and customer marketing during more than 20 years working for prime brands such as plant-based foods and drinks manufacturer Alpro, the nr. 1 Belgian pasta and flour brand Soubry and the European fresh food group Ter Beke. Clients praise her experience based approach, combining well-founded knowledge with hands-on support during the execution of Category Management and Shopper Marketing projects. Veronique holds a MSc in Biochemical Engineering from Ghent University. She is fluent in Dutch, French and English.

RetailDetail, the leading b2b-retailcommunity in the Benelux, keeps retail professionals up-to-date by means of online & offline publications, retail events, inspiring retail hunts and the unique co-creation platform retailhub, where retailers and their suppliers can experience the future of shopping.

Shopper marketing

LD&Co is in charge for the coordination and delivery of the Category Management training for GS1 Belgium. GS1 is a global organization focused on the design and implementation of standards in the field of electronic communication between companies.
