About LD & Co

LD & Co is headed by Luc Desmedt and offers services built on more than 20 years of expertise and hands-on experience.   The core activities of LD & Co are delivered by Luc Desmedt, in collaboration with a network of carefully selected expert partners.  These partners either play an active role in the delivery of the consulting & training services, or provide expert information and inspiration, enabling LD & Co to consistently offer state-of-the-art knowledge and expertise. 

Since November 1, 2013, Veronique Claerbout joined the LD & Co team as associate member. 

Luc Desmedt

  • Luc Desmedt spent almost 15 years with Procter & Gamble, where he started in the marketing department and held several brand & marketing management positions.  He also gained key account management experience, both on a national and international level, and played a pioneering role in the worldwide development of shopper marketing within P&G.
  • In 2002, Luc Desmedt became managing partner of Retail Insights, a company specialized in gathering and activating shopper insights.   Within Retail Insights,  Luc Desmedt developed consulting & training services aimed at developing sales & trade marketing competence and strategies. As both activities are related but nevertheless require an entirely different approach,  it was decided to split up both activities and to deliver the training & consulting services as of July 1, 2008 out of a new company, LD & Co.
  • LD & Co recently delivered this consulting & training services to the following companies: Campbell’s, Beiersdorf, Goodyear, Microsoft, Philips, Ferrero, Alpro, Spadel, Vandemoortele, Bonduelle, Soubry
  • Luc Desmedt holds a Master in Marketing from the Vlerick Management School Gent and a Master in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp. 
  • He is fluent in Dutch, French & English.
     

Veronique Claerbout

  • In 1991, Veronique Claerbout started out in the NPD department of Alpro. Soon she moved to the sales and marketing department, where she gained international key account management experience. 
  • In 2007, Veronique Claerbout moved to Soubry, Belgium's leading pasta manufacturer, where she set up the trade marketing department and initiated many successful projects with leading retailers.
  • Veronique became head of international trade marketing at Ter Beke Fresh Food Group in 2010, allowing to further develop and strengthen her trade marketing expertise. Within Ter Beke, one of her key achievements consisted of fine-tuning and implementing a well-founded, shopper centric business planning process. 
  • Veronique Claerbout holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Ghent University. 
  • She is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
